“I would say I’m quite satisfied with our performance today. Even though we made several mistakes throughout the match, when I look at the overall picture, I’m still happy with how we played,
“I’ve been paired with different partners before, and the biggest challenge is always communication and building that on-court chemistry.
For this tournament, we only had about two weeks of training together after being paired, so we’re still adjusting to each other’s playing styles so there is definitely more work to be done in terms of coordination, understanding each other’s movements, and strengthening our teamwork,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Tan shared that she kept motivating herself throughout the match to ensure both players performed at their best.
“For me, what keeps me focused is the responsibility to give my best for the team. I always remind myself to stay disciplined and take every match as a learning opportunity to do best in the future,” she said.
