Saidatul Saadiah Mohammad showcased her prowess in the Girls’ Under-16 Group A AFFIN-100PLUS Junior Elite Tour (1st leg) 2024, clinching the singles title but falling short in the doubles at the Negeri Sembilan BA Hall in Seremban.

In the Girls’ U16 Singles final, the tournament’s top seed, Saidatul Saadiah, exhibited tenacity against Johor’s Hasyni Devi Sahathevan, securing a three-set victory with scores of 21-12 18-21 21-15.

However, the failure to secure a straight-set win foreshadowed the challenges in the Girls’ Doubles final, where Saidatul Saadiah, partnering with Lim Ke Xuan, failed to overcome the unheralded duo of Hasyni Devi-Navina Nagarajan. Despite winning the first set 21-14, they couldn’t maintain the momentum, ultimately losing 21-15 23-21.

In Group B, unseeded Teoh Sue Mei from Kuala Lumpur displayed a remarkable run in the AFFIN-100PLUS Junior Elite Tour (1st leg) 2024 in Selangor, defeating top-seeded homester Chanice Tan Ying Xuan 21-15 21-9 in the Girls’ U16 Singles final.

Meanwhile, in Putrajaya’s Group C, Loshini Ramesh caused an upset in the Girls’ U16 Singles final, beating top seed Nurin Zahirah Haizal with scores of 21-18 24-22. Loshini’s decisive victory came after overcoming second-seeded Ooi Yu Han in the semifinals.
